About the city

Budapest, “Pearl of Danube”, is divided into two parts by the meandering Danube river and its banks’ landscape is listed amongst the World heritage list. Budapest is one of the world’s most romantic, entertaining capitals with its broad boulevards and green parks, grand Art-Nouveau mansions, lively cafes and worldclass music venues. There is a wide variety of museums, art galleries and exhibition halls to explore; the possibility of listening to fiery gypsy- or classical music or dance in the numerous music clubs. It is also the world’s only capital with more then 80 thermal springs.

Currency

The currency used in Hungary is the Forint. Credit cards are accepted in many shops, hotels and restaurants. For cash, you will find numerous cash-points across the city (opened 24 hours a day).

Travel information

Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport formerly known as Budapest Ferihegy International Airport, is the international airport serving the Hungarian capital city of Budapest, and the largest of the country’s five international airports. The Airport is located 16 kilometers (9.9 mi) east-southeast of the centre of Budapest.
The Airport is well accessible by car and can be reached in 20-60 minutes from the City center by the “High-Speed Road”. Budapest Airport is relatively well accessible also by Public Transportation means. Passengers are taken by a direct bus service #200E to Kőbánya-Kispest metro terminal.

Taxis from the Airport

Taxis are available outside of the arrival gates at the airport and should cost approximately 9,000 HUF (~30 EUR) to go to the city centre. There is a minimum fare and the price per kilometer is shown on the taxi meter. The official taxi company at the airport is FŐTAXI. The airport is located 16 km east-southeast of the center of Budapest. Transfer time from the airport to the city center is approximately 30-40 minutes. Visas

A valid passport is required to enter to Hungary except for citizens of the EU countries who may enter with a valid national ID card and without a visa. Participants requiring a visa for entry to Hungary are strongly advised to make their applications in their home country at least two months before the intended date of travel.
Hungary is part of the Schengen Area of 25 European countries. For non-Schengen EU, USA and Canadian citizens a valid passport is sufficient to enter Hungary. Citizens of other countries should check whether visa is needed for them when entering Hungary (for more information please visit the home page of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary). On request, the Organizing Committee will issue invitation letters for visa applications. Please apply in due time for a visa if necessary. Please indicate during the registration if you need a personal invitation to attend the conference. It is important to note that a visa is only a preliminary permission for entry, which does not authorise its bearer automatically to enter the country.

Letter of invitation

Participants to IPIC 2015, requiring a formal letter of invitation should contact the IPIC secretariat at [email protected]. Such an invitation is only intended to help congress participants to raise funds for their travel or to obtain a visa of entry in Hungary, it does not imply any commitment from the meeting organisers to provide any financial support or scheduling of presentations.

Italian Official Agency for AIFA Procedure

Any Italian pharmaceutical company supporting or participating in a congress abroad, is subjected to an authorization by AIFA (Italian Drug Agency), according to an Italian Government Decree (Decreto Legislativo 219/06 – art. 124).

The request of authorization must be submitted within 60 days before the starting date of the event. Italian pharmaceutical companies are advised to contact the official Agency appointed by the organising secretariat:

Liability and insurance

IPIC secretariat and organisers cannot accept liability for personal injury or damage involving persons and property during the congress. All participants are strongly advised to take out their personal travel and health insurance.

Safety and security

Please do not leave your belongings unattended at any time. We strongly recommend that you use hotel safety deposit for your valuables.
